UGLY STICKERS!
Topps Ugly Stickers! I LOVE these stickers! I would plaster everything in sight with them! My bed for example no longer resembled a bed, it was loaded in these stickers and any other cool sticker I could find!
Each card has an amazingly detailed painting of an offbeat creature. They were just plain weird and FUN and definitely the kind of thing all of us kids wanted! The Topps Cards feature the artwork of Norm Saunders, Wally Wood and Basil Wolverton.
Every kid I knew had ’em! The best part was that they had names for all of them! It was tough to find your name but I was always psyched that they had my name! I couldn’t get enough of these great creatures! There was even rubber uglies that looked very much like these cards. They sold them in bubble gum machines etc…That’s how large this ugly sticker explosion got! THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!
Topps trading cards were originally printed in 1965 with additional releases and modified sets through 1976. Each slobbering, rotting monstrosity was available with one to four name variations! These cards were GLORIOUSLY GROSS and you NEEDED to get every one!
