Mattel Squishies!
The Squishy Witch and Oddbod came out around 1971. I remember them so well and they were the precursor to the Stretch Armstrong toys. Oddbod is somewhat Odd as I guess he’s supposed to be a Troll? My fave was always the Witch. It’s super cool and grizzly green.
These weird little wax-filled rubber toys were the best! I remember taking them for many a ride in the backseat of the family car, although the backseat to me was a FUN filled horror land not just a regular old boring backseat of course!
These horrid little monsters are only 5 inches tall, and filled with a harmless wax. They originally provided hours and hours of gruesome face contorting FUN! When you squash them, they return to their normal shape over and over. They were very squishy and you could pinch these guys into millions of different facial contortions. Over the years they tend to get hard and sadly the rubber splits.
I LOVE that the witch is just a head and green heeled boots. So FUNNY and ghastly green with a giant pink mouth!
These are pretty rare today so I wouldn’t suggest squeezing them too much if you find one. Squishies! So KILLER!
