THEM BONES MEGO BOARD GAME (1976)
This game was way similar to Operation in that you had to avoid touching the metal contact with your tweezers as you try to extract bones. The amazing thing about this game is that it was a horror/scarier version of Operation. You would grab all the bones out of a killer glowing skeleton head with light up red bulbous eyes! In Them Bones, however, successfully extracting a bone allows you to move further ahead on a game board. Bumping the contact would cause a buzzer to buzz and the scary eyes to glow red at you like a warning from Hell!
This game was suspenseful creepy and FUN! The set of glow-in-the-dark bones associated with this game included T-bones, Ham Bones, Trombones, and Funny Bones so it had a little humor mixed in with the horror, which was always kind of FUN.
For an extra eerie challenge, players could take advantage of the fact that the skull and bones could glow in the dark and by turning out the lights during the extraction attempts it made the game much more fun and scary not to mention a harder game to play. The skeletal hand on the spinner was oh so cool and also would glow-in-the-dark. You just can’t ignore how cool a skeleton spinner was! Lords of Light and Demon Dogs — It was the BEST!
Of course, once again I LOVED the hell out of this game! Glow In The Dark RULES! I loved the Operation game, so it was an instant LOVE and with the skull head and bones added, it made it that much more scary and FUN!
When I was done playing with this game the skull would always stay out in my room for that extra enjoyable thrill! LOVE LOVE LOVED it!
