We told you we would be dark this week and in a shocking twist at the end of the movie we are in fact, NOT dark this week! Muhahaha! In fact, we are releasing this bonus episode of the podcast that runs concurrent with the Saw franchise from several years ago, though portions of the podcast actually happen in the future!

This week, Ron and Little Miss Horror Nerd call on Mr. Universe in order to help wrap up the craziness that is the Saw franchise by covering the most recent Saw film, Jigsaw.

The traps are back. The twists are back. And *sigh* John Kramer is back even though he died over ten years ago, as the movie is fond of telling us.

This is our final New Year’s Resolution/Horror Cred show, Ron and Little Miss Horror Nerd watch Maniac — which is one movie that has managed to elude Ron all these years. They will discuss the movie as a character study, the life and death of Joe Spinell and Jessica shows her expertise about penises.

To say Frank has some problems with his mother is an understatement. To say that Frank “isn’t all there” is a bigger understatement. Frank stalks and murders attractive women and does unusual things to part of their bodies. Frank knows this is wrong, but cannot help his instincts or his hallucinations.

Maniac was too far ahead of it’s time and suffered a lot of criticism and lacked proper marketing because of it.

As we see the end of the tunnel on our horror cred New Year’s Resolution shows, we get a bit of a surprise! This particular episode isn’t about a black and white paranormal movie, but a fairly recent critically acclaimed film. In this episode Ron and Little Miss Horror Nerd make Clint the Reckless watch Get Out from 2017.

Chris Washington is four months into an interracial relationship with Rose Armitage when he is invited to her families upstate New York estate for the weekend. After arriving, Chris is disturbed by an undercurrent of strangeness by the way he is treated. He is right to be suspicious. Things are not as they appear. In this episode, we discuss the racial undertones of the film, the horror appeal of Jordan Peele and attempt to get Jessica a new body.

This week as we continue our tour of watching horror cred movies for a New Year’s Resolution, we make a stop in the public domain for our good friend, horror demi-God, Vincent Price! Ron, Little Miss Horror Nerd and Jay of the Dead take a look at the original black and white House on Haunted Hill.

Millionaire Frederick Lauren has invited five people to spend the night in a haunted mansion — if they make it through the night, they will each receive $10,000. Of course, that is assuming they make it through the night. With ghosts, contention between some of the guests and a pit of acid in the basement, it’s not a sure thing that they all will!

Episode 337: The Innocents (1961)

In this episode, Ron and Little Miss Horror Nerd welcome Gregamortis from the Land of the Creeps podcast to shame him for never having seen the influential British ghost story, The Innocents.

Topics of discussion include children acting, kissing children on the lips, Funko pop collecting, why paranormal films are often overlooked and of course, Jessica doing something ridiculous that should have probably killed her.

The Innocents takes place in 1860s England where a governess takes watch over two children. Odd things start occurring in the home when the ghosts of employees past make their presence known, leading to the children acting strange. The governess plans to get to the bottom of the mystery and thus free the kids from any potential danger they may be under.
