GRAB YOUR BEAVERS!
Hey kids…and adults…and undead! I am back with more zombies this week. However this time it is zombified beavers instead of cute girls. Let me tell you that cute girl zombie is a hell of a lot nicer than these damn beavers.
Zombeavers a horror comedy released to VOD on March 20, 2015 stars Rachel Melvin (Dumb and Dumber Too). The plot centers around three college coeds who take a weekend trip to a cabin in the woods to escape cheating and douchey boyfriends. I feel their pain!
Once there, it isn’t long before the douchebags show up uninvited. The mayhem begins when one of our ladies attempts to take a shower and is confronted by an undead and homicidal beaver. The kids beat it to death (or so they think) and dump it on the porch in a plastic bag. The assumption was the beaver was rabid but dead rabies infected animals don’t get up later and walk away. The kids leave the cabin the next morning to go swimming in the lake and find an empty plastic bag. Uh oh! Unfortunately, the lake is a very bad choice and before they know it they are under attack!
I have been looking forward to this movie since I first heard about it last winter. I liked the concept of zombie animals combined with humor and of course, a cabin in the woods full of idiot college kids. No one’s brain works at that age. I had high hopes and I was not disappointed. Zombeavers was the perfect combination of humor and horror. It could be loosely considered a slasher movie with beavers (ED NOTE: Or a zombie movie with beavers) as the villains because the formula is basically the same.
I really loved this movie. It was so much fun. Boobs, blood, beavers, and boning. It doesn’t get better than that (ED NOTE: You are weird). The quality of the film was great and the actors did a good job. My favorite characters were actually the peripheral adult characters that brought much of the humor.
Zombeavers was 85 minutes well spent and is currently available for rent on iTunes and VOD. Check out their Facebook page for information about the DVD release and theatrical release.
