The story begins at a Bible Camp for teenagers in 1977. One by one, the kids are slaughtered by someone in a nun’s habit wearing a mask. The film then jumps ahead seven years, to a new group of kids attending the same Bible Camp. Of course, after a story is established the kids start getting murdered again. Sound familiar? Hint: Friday the 13th.

This film was bananas. It was just a carnival of bad taste and blasphemy — I loved it!  I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic School (Ed Note: Did you have to wear those outfits?) for many years and I was not offended in the slightest. However, if you are easily offended by religious humor, I’d skip this one.

index (1)I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I definitely thought it would not live up to the trailer or the reviews but it far exceeded my expectations. There was something for everyone and it followed the formula for slashers and went above and beyond. In the first 15 minutes, nine campers were murdered. This included full body frontal nudity of a girl being chased by the killer (Ed Note: yes) ; a male camper murdered while taking a dump (Ed Note: Okay); and a guy butt banging a girl for at least 30 seconds before noticing she was dead and headless (Ed Note: Yes!!)!!! We get several more naked boob shots later in the movie along with some very bizarre kills including a girl being sodomized by a crucifix and then being murdered by having it shoved in her mouth. You have to see it to believe it.

If the movie had a different tone to it, I may have been scarred by it. But that is just another great thing about this movie! It is a self-proclaimed horror comedy that is actually funny. I actually laughed many times. And to top it all off, Ron Jeremy (Ed Note: A hero of mine) played Jesus Christ. It really doesn’t get any better than that.

For what it was and what it was trying to be, this movie succeeded. The acting was bad and it was totally over the top but for 90 minutes of gross outs and giggles, who cares! Bloody Bloody Bible Camp was totally worth my time.
