Alyce Kills stars Jade Dornfeld as Alyce and was created by Jay Lee of Zombie Strippers. I had high hopes for this. I got the impression this was a dark psychological horror movie  after reading the synopsis and few reviews on Amazon. The premise sounded interesting and original as well. Alyce seems to be a very insecure young woman.

As a result of her bizarre single white female behavior toward her best friend Carroll she loses her for a year. We learn in the first act that they are just now reconnecting. Alyce and Carroll go out for a night on the town which includes drinking & drugs and ends with them somehow on Alyce’s roof. This is where things go downhill. Alyce accidentally (deliberately?) pushes Carroll off of the roof. Although we are lead to believe this was an accident Alyce does not go to her friend’s side after she falls. Apparently this was supposed to be a study in Alyce’s mental deterioration as a result of the accident.

Sadly, I could not have been more wrong about this movie. I do not know what is was trying to be but what it is is a mess. The plot, if you could call it that, went down an extremely bizarre road that did not make any sense. Alyce’s character had no motivation for any of her actions for the remainder of the film based on the accident.  The film was 93 minutes long and at 75 minutes in I realized NOTHING had actually happened since the accident. It is at that point that all hell breaks loose and Alyce finally really loses it but I no longer cared. I didn’t care about any of the characters either. Not one of them was even remotely likable. Alyce Kills turns into a ridiculous and comical farce for the last 17 minutes.I actually started laughing at what a critic on Rotten Tomatoes called uber-violence. I don’t know what the hell that guy watched but it couldn’t have been this movie! The only thing scary about Alyce Kills is the $6.99 I paid to rent it from Amazon. The only thing funny about this movie is the terrible writing. Don’t bother unless you like wasting money and only watching the last 17 minutes of a movie.
