It’s summertime and for young folks, it’s all about making memories and growing up. Some might even be “coming of age,” — whatever that random term we have assigned to the times when our hormones outnumber our brain cells and we do really stupid things that we try to forget twenty years later. There are pictures every now. You will never forget. There’s only one thing you can do. Sit back. Relax. Put on this week’s show as Ron and Jay of the Dead take a look at two coming of age witchcraft stories.
First up, the recent release The Wretched (2020). It was a surprise VOD hit when the world was locked up in their homes searching for new horror. This story revolves around a kid at his dad’s house for the summer and he suspects something isn’t right with his neighbors. He is correct. They are witches and they eat children.
Second, a surprise mid-90s hit, The Craft (1996) will be the topic of discussion. The Craft greatly influenced pop culture as a string of teen witch movies/TV shows followed making stars of the four girls of the coven.
Also, in this episode lots of mini-history lessons about the Salem Witch Trials.
